Jesus Could Disarm Death Because He Is God

The aim of Jesus was to honour and glorify God the Father. The aim of God the Father was to glorify Jesus and He chose to glorify Him most clearly by His death and resurrection. His death and resurrection testify that Jesus is God the Son, and the only Saviour of the World. The result of God choosing to glorify Jesus this way is that death has become a defeated enemy for those who believe in Jesus and cling to the Gospel. Because Jesus took our damnation when He died, death no longer brings an end to our hope and joy, but the realization of our hope and joy.
