Jesus obeyed all God's commands regarding speech in our place and bore our punishment for our sinful speech. He also was the fulfillment of every word God ever spoke, and by trusting God's Word about Jesus we have eternal life. This is why speech is such a matter of holiness.
People who have been set free by Christ from slavery to sin are free to use their speech in honour and thankfulness to Christ.
