Family Discussion Questions
Younger and Older:
- How did Jesus show that He was in control of creation as it's Creator when He was on earth?
- How did Jesus show that He would not be mastered by anything as the Perfect Man?
- Why is it comforting for a Christian to know that Jesus is in control of everything?
- What can you do to show that you love that Jesus is the Ruler of all things?
Deeper Discussion:
- How does the doctrine of "Union With Christ" help us to understand how Christians would benefit from Christ's demonstration of dominion over death?
- What does the phrase "by the grace of God" teach us about the motivation for Christ's death?
- In what ways can we currently see "nothing left outside of Christ's control", and in which ways do we "not yet see everything in subjection to him"?
- Humanity and Christ were both temporarily made lower than the angels. Compare and contrast how this is true for Christ and us.
- In the previous chapter, the author has taught that the Old Testament can either be called "The Word of God delivered by the angels" OR "The Word of God delivered by the prophets". How does this passage help us to be satisfied in the Gospel (The Word of God spoken by His Son) and not seek or accept more words from prophets (or angels)?
