Before the religious judges of the Jewish people, and before the judges of the Roman Empire, Jesus was accused of making Himself to be the Son of God. Astonishingly, there was otherwise found to be no guilt in the man whose execution was the most notorious in human history.
If He was not the Son of God,
He deserved, by the Jewish Scriptures to be executed. Roman law would have had Him executed too for being a threat to Caesar's lordship - if He was not the Son of God.
But if Jesus of Nazareth was the Son of God,
- He is the King of all humanity, and are all guilty and stand before God condemned because we've all been living as if there is no King.
- He then was guiltless, as the only crime He was charged with was to falsify being the Son of God.
- When those who trust in Him stand before God since Christ took our guilt upon Him on the Cross, the same judgement will be given of us by God Himself:
